PAL Softball Program Overview

The Huntington PAL is excited to launch our new Girls Softball Program, designed to build foundational skills, boost confidence, and give young athletes a fun and competitive environment to grow in the sport. We will be offering two divisions for the 2026 season:

Hybrid – Rookies Fast Pitch (Ages 6–8)

This division blends coach pitch and player pitch, giving young athletes the best of both worlds as they begin learning fast-pitch mechanics.

• Why Hybrid?
  It eliminates the common “walk fest” seen at this age by allowing coaches to step in and pitch when needed, keeping the action moving and helping players stay engaged.

• Development Focus:

  • Proper pitching fundamentals

  • Hitting confidence with consistent pitches

  • Learning game flow and positions

• Field Setup:

  • 60’ baselines

  • Flat dirt infield

This division is the perfect introduction to fast-pitch softball and sets players up for success as they advance.

Minors Fast Pitch (Ages 8–12)

Our Minors division follows a traditional fast-pitch softball format, giving experienced players the chance to take the mound and compete at a higher level.

• Player-Pitch Only:
  Athletes fully pitch these games, promoting skill growth and real-game experience.

• Development Focus:

  • Pitcher vs. hitter strategy

  • Strong defensive fundamentals

  • Advanced base running

• Field Setup:

  • 60’ baselines

  • Flat dirt infield

This division offers a competitive but supportive environment where players can continue to develop and enjoy the game.
